Syd made a ball go under the truck, down the ramp, hit another ball, that rolled and hit the button on the jack in the box which sent a marble flying into a funnel (on the right attached with strings), which went down a spiral into a cup, the cup hit a trail of dominoes which knocked some legos out from under a lever and turned off an alarm clock. She had to use several simple machines in her project and come up with an idea to do a simple task (turn off an alarm). The idea being you could have this set up by your bed and when the alarm went off you could roll the ball and it would go through the whole set up and end with turning the alarm off. Pretty cool, huh? Syd worked on this project for hours and days..I mean it. She must have put 10 hours in. Then we had to film it so she could show it to her class. It took us a lot of filming for it to actually do what it was supposed to. Besides the fact that I was not a very good helper and kept knocking down the domino trail. Syd finally told me to back away and not help her. We were giggling too much. Of course the first time we tried it it worked perfectly and we didn't film it.
Great job Syd. You are such a hard worker. I hope you got an A on this thing..you definitely deserved it!
Max also did a project..a couple of years ago..but I never took any pictures. I think he had a car going on a track and it eventually lit a firecracker. He did a great job too!
